The European Day of Languages
The European Day of Languages was celebrated at our school. The aim was to show the diversity of languages within Europe and to encourage more people to learn another language. Throughout Europe, over 800 million Europeans are represented in the Council of Europe’s member states and all are encouraged to discover more languages as part of their studies. This stems from the Council of Europe’s conviction that linguistic diversity is a tool for achieving greater intercultural understanding. Therefore, the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg, promotes plurilingualism with their initiative, the European Day of Languages, together with the European Commission.
Our Class 7 students also had a bake sale as a fund raiser for their graduation ceremony and Classes 1, 2 and 3 participated in a drawing competition.
