In biology it is important to practically experience dissection of animal organs in order to understand how their structure relates to their function, and also to comprehend the bioethics behind animal experimentation. Our students dissected a heart, brain and kidneys as part of their main core practicals for their A-Level Biology course. It was really productive for them to use scalpels, knives etc. and to identify all the different structures that they have been learning about from a practical point of view in order to enhance their skills prior to attending university.
