While it has been proven that students who learn chess improve important abilities like sportsmanship, respect, fairness, patience, leadership, confidence, and a healthy self perception, numerous studies have shown a direct link to academic performance — particularly mathematical. At the American Academy our aims, apart from the aforementioned, are to also improve memory and concentration as well as to foster logic, planning skills and critical thinking. Well done to all the students who signed up for the extracurricular Chess Club 👏.
