Carbohydrates changed Benedict&#8217;s reagent from blue &#8211;&gt; orange. Lipids were tested by adding ethanol and distilled water to the food sample causing a colour change from clear&#8211;&gt; cloudy. Proteins were tested by Biuret reagent, with a colour change from blue &#8211;&gt; purple. They were really excited with the colour changes, recording them on tables and writing their experimental reports.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql o9v6fnle ii04i59q\">\n<h3 dir=\"auto\">With practical lessons, a student&#8217;s capabilities are laid bare, and there is no hiding behind memory tricks. A student is only assessed on how much they understood the subject matter, as opposed to how well they can memorize and repeat it.
